IPv6 Compliance Test
The IPv6 compliance audit is a straight forward IPv6 network setup verification whereby it only covers the local network setup by the ISPs. It is non intrusive by nature, and the testing on the network was performed based on the information provided by the ISPs. The information was validated and verified.
IPv6 Compliance Audit Details
The IPv6 Compliance Audit exercise consists of three phases of the IPv6 Compliance Test for the ISPs.
Phase 1: Analyze the Readiness of Tier-1 ISPs
| This phase is divided into 3 test groups: | ||
| Group 1 | : | Basic network connectivity tests |
| Group 2 | : | Interconnectivity tests |
| Group 3 | : | IPv6 support in DNS extensions |
Phase 2: IPv6 Compliance Testing
The second phase of the IPv6 Compliance Audit is to test the capabilities of ISPs to provide IPv6 connectivity internally and externally. The detailed procedure of the Phase 2 will be presented in the Phase 2 Audit Technical Document once a meeting is initiated between NAV6 and the ISPs. The detailed audit procedure will be based on a jointly agreed feedback from all parties.
The Phase 2 audit will emphasize on the inter connectivity between the ISPs. The proposed methodology is to enable each ISP to send and receive IPv6 data between each other (ISPs) and the rest of the global IPv6 network. The ISPs will be required to prove their IPv6 commercial usability by having actual customers connected to their commercial IPv6 network.
Phase 3: Commercial & Advanced IPv6 Network Services
This phase is to test the availability and support of IPv6 in current commercial as well as advanced network services. This phase covers:
Customer oriented services such as xDSL, Email, DNS, Web-hosting, and etc.
Operational network services such as FTP, SSH, NTP, Intranet network services, and etc.
