GOALS & PURPOSE

NAv6 and NRG was formed with the following purpose in mind:

	Conduct cutting-edge R & D I IPv6 technology.
	Plan and implement appropriate programmes for Malaysia to be IPv6 enabled nation in 2010.
	Bridging the gap between Academia and Industry in the field of Advanced Computer Networks.
	Working towards a developed nation by 2020, by contributing scholars and scientists with high level expertise in Advanced Computer Networks.
	To facilitate Malaysia to be a Post Graduate Educational hub in the field of Advanced Computer Networks.
	To commercialize the research products of the institute.

OBJECTIVES

The centre aims to achieve the following:

	To promote IPv6 research, development and utilization in Malaysia
	To study and monitor the impact of the protocol transition particularly for Malaysia and monitor regional development
	To ensure Malaysia’s competitive edge in IPv6
	To commit to continuous research, experiment and development of new applications as well as the porting of existing applications to the new IPv6 specifications
	Providing the necessary environment and course structures to train and nurture IPv6 programmers and experts for Malaysia and the region
